Infinix Hot 7 Pro

Infinix time and time again as surprised us with their amazing budget smartphones. The infinix Hot 7 pro is one of infinix amazing devices in the Hot series.

The Hot 7 pro model packs a 6GB RAM which lifts it a little above the Hot 7. But does more RAM makes a difference or are you better off with any other device  such as the Oppo Find X2 or the Xiaomi Poco X3? We put the infinix Hot 7 pro to the test, so let’s find out in this review.

Infinix Hot 7 Pro Design

The Hot 7 pro has a simple design. It packs a .19- inches HD+ display and a wide notch at the front. Though this looks a little outdated, considering other smartphones use a smaller water drop notch but this is quite understandable for its budget.

The shape was chosen by infinix to accommodate the dual selfie cameras and flash. The earpiece is located just above the notch.

Infinix chose to go with a metal back panel which gives the Hot 7 a pretty great look and feel. It also has a curved edge which makes it comfortable to hold. The power and volume buttons are located on the right side, while the 3-in-1 dual nana SIM and microSD card tray is on the left.

Located  at the back of the phone is the dual camera setup along with a single LED flash, and a fingerprint sensor.

The micro – USB port is located at the bottom along side the 3.5mm headphone Jack and loudspeaker grille. The Hot 7 pro has a low charger and earpiece in its box.

The Hot 7 pro comes in midnight Black, Aqua Blue and Mocha Brown colours.

Infinix Hot 7 pro Display

The Hot 7 pro has a big screen that has a 6.19 inches IPS display, 720 × 1500 pixels resolution. The display produces decent colours and has a satisfactory brightness under day light.

Infinix Hot 7 pro Camera

Infinix Hot 7 Pro Review - Features and Specs/What's new?

The Hot 7 pro has a dual camera and one LED flash light located at the front and back of the phone. Pictures taken by this device are fairly on the average. The phase detection and auto focusing is great. Its video recording goes up to about 1080p for the main and selfie cameras. The Hot 7 pro lacks video in low light.

It is therefore safe to say that, though the  Hot 7 pro is an amazing budget phone. It is not recommended for people that love taking great quality pictures.

Infinix Hot 7 pro software

The Infinix Hot 7 pro unlike the infinix Hot 7 packs a 6GB of RAM. It is powered by the MediaTek Helii P22 Soc, which is suitable for a phone at this price range. It comes with a 64GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion.

The Hot 7 pro comes with a XOS 5 on an Android 9 pie. It also comes with some pre-installed apps such as palm store. The UI has a few features added on top of stock Android. It has Game Boost, which claims to boost CPU performance, clear up RAM and block incoming notifications while gaming. Just like infinix Hot 7, the Hot 8 pro has a WhatsApp which allows only WhatsApp to make use of data in the background. A bike mode which rejects all incoming calls and auto replies with a text. A freezer which prevents apps from running in the background.

Infinix Hot 7 pro performance

The Hot 7 pro has 6GB of RAM which makes it a little quicker than the Hot 7 and quite good at multitasking. The rear mounted finger print sensor and the face recognition feature unlocks the phone quite fast.

When the phone graphics was set to smooth and the frame rate set to medium, it was able to play PUBG mobile with just a little stutter occasionally.

Should I Buy It?

Buy it if you:

  • Do not use your phone often because of its battery life.

The Final Verdict

The Infinix Hot 7 pro is a phone that cost just a little amount to have. Its 6GB of RAM makes it better than most phones at its price range but its weak processor drags it a little backward. It has just a little advantage  while multitasking because of its 6GB RAM.

The cameras also need a few tweaks to improve their performance in day light.

However, the Infinix Hot 7 pro is a pretty amazing  piece of gadget for the price it is been sold at.
