Several rumours have been circulating about an Nvidia RTX 3080 card with 20GB of RAM since the card was first announced. It seems obvious that Nvidia will produce a new SKU such as this to fill the niche, given the gap between the current RTX 3080’s 10GB and the RTX 3090’s 24GB. But very little concrete evidence of an RTX 3080 Ti (or RTX 3080 Super) has surfaced until now.
According to PCGamesN, a database entry on ASUS support page for two models of RTX 3080 Ti 20GB cards, as well as two entries for an RTX 3060 with 12GB of RAM were spotted by HXL, a reliable leaker. However, the entries have been removed from the database.
The models listed follow Asus’s typical naming pattern. If previous Asus cards are anything to go by, the difference between the two models is that one will have a factory overclock and one will run at stock speeds.

The high performance and low cost of the Nvidia’s RTX 30 series as compared to the RTX 20 series cards has been a thing of admiration by most users. However, the line launched without a card that filled the same niche the GTX 1080 Ti and RTX 2080 Ti did. The lack of a model sitting between the RTX 3080’s $699 and the RTX 3090’s $1,499 price point is a glaring omission considering there are many users who want more RAM but not necessarily higher performance.

There has been no confirmation as to the existence of a RTX 3060 and RTX 3080 cards with more RAM. Given supply issues with the initial models of RTX 30 series cards, it is likely that we would see another paper launch if the new GPUs launched anytime soon.
