On March 16th, Apple announced that the Apple Maps has been updated with vaccine locations from VaccineFinder. VaccineFinder is a website that provides reliable information on vaccine eligibility and availability, this site is run by Boston Children’s Hospital. To get information on the nearest COVID-19 vaccination sites, you can either search Apple Maps or ask Siri, “Where can I get a COVID vaccination?” Over 20,000 locations are now listed, with more locations to be added in the coming weeks.
Information such as the operating hours and contact information for each of the vaccine site listing in Apple Maps are included. Apple Maps VaccineFinder also provides a link to the vaccine provider’s website to find out about vaccine availability as well as book an appointment.
Apple joins a number of other tech companies offering more ways for people to check their eligibility, locate vaccination sites, and get vaccine appointments with this new feature.

Other Ways To find COVID-19 Vaccine Info Aside Apple Maps
More ways are now being put in place to make vaccination faster and efficient. Facebook also announced the addition of VaccineFinder information to its COVID Information Center, giving users information on when and where they can get vaccinated, also providing links to make appointments. This will also be extended to Instagram, and the company is working on expanding government and health authority WhatsApp chatbots to help people register for vaccines.
Following the trend, Google announced that people can use Business Messages in Google Maps and Google search to contact local pharmacies owned by Albertsons Companies. Including Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Albertsons, Acme, Shaw’s, and Tom Thumb with questions about vaccine eligibility, availability, and appointment booking. This will offer more ways to provide information about COVID-19 vaccination.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 28 percent of adults in the US have received their first vaccine dose at the moment. The federal government of the United States is set to launch its own vaccine-finding website by May 1st, according to their prediction all adults in the US will be eligible for a vaccine at that time.
